Most patients are from the big cities and are addicted to alcohol or illegal drugs, or have schizophrenia or psychosis. Much emphasis is placed on occupational therapy in a rural setting that differs as much as possible from the big city.
The street children aid project in Ghana focuses on the care and support of children from the poorest of backgrounds. Children who have no school education are taken off the streets. Practical skills are taught to help them find regular work. As a volunteer, you will support the care and education of the children.
