What unpaid short-term internships can you combine?

Teaching in Kindergarten: Support caregivers in teaching basic English, numbers, and the alphabet. You can also lead singing, clapping, and circle games, sports activities, or dance, as well as assist with daily tasks. Your own activities (e.g., a "toothbrushing workshop") are welcome.

Teaching at an Informal School: Here, you'll prepare younger children for admission exams for the state school system or teach adolescents essential life skills such as reading, writing, arithmetic, English, general knowledge, or vocational skills (e.g., crafts, agriculture).

Day Centers for Children with Special Needs: In these facilities, you can focus on special education (teaching) or physiotherapy/occupational therapy, depending on your interest.

Social Work: You'll gain insight into the activities of a social worker and assist with home visits and in facilities where counseling and educational programs are provided for children, families, women, and HIV patients.

Veterinary Practice: Not only pets, but also farm animals are treated by the veterinarians. In addition to working in the clinic, you'll accompany a veterinarian to farms and pastures throughout the Kilimanjaro region.

Tree Nursery and Reforestation on Kilimanjaro: In the tree nursery, indigenous trees and fruit trees are grown. In tree planting campaigns, thousands of seedlings are planted in deforested areas. Besides working in the tree nursery, you also help farmers cultivate corn, coffee, bananas, and other crops.

Restaurant Internship: Are you interested in gastronomy or African cuisine? Then we'll organize a restaurant internship for you. The restaurants cater to the local middle class as well as tourists and offer a mix of Tanzanian and international (Indian, Chinese, European) cuisine.

Agricultural Training Center and Production of Building Materials: As an intern at an agricultural college that has its own agricultural production for teaching and income purposes, you can focus on agricultural production or on the preparation and implementation of teaching programs. The center also produces building materials (gravel, concrete blocks).
