Lutindi Mental Hospital is a private mental health facility in the scenic Usambara Mountains of Tanzania. Most patients are from the big cities and are addicted to alcohol or illegal drugs, or have schizophrenia or psychosis. Much emphasis is placed on occupational therapy in a rural setting that differs as much as possible from the big city.
In Ghana's nurseries, the focus is on teaching basic social skills. Your task as a volunteer is to assist the educators in caring for the children and thus relieve them of some of their workload. In doing so, you will promote the creative and physical development of the little ones and contribute to better conditions.
