Every year, over 640,000 tonnes of fishing gear is lost in our oceans. As a consequence, more than 130,000 seals, whales and dolphins are being killed annually by this debris. This volunteer project involves diving in the ocean near Lisbon, removing fishing gear and other rubbish from the ocean bed and reefs.
Lutindi Mental Hospital is a private mental health facility in the scenic Usambara Mountains of Tanzania. Most patients are from the big cities and are addicted to alcohol or illegal drugs, or have schizophrenia or psychosis. Much emphasis is placed on occupational therapy in a rural setting that differs as much as possible from the big city.
