Learn ancient bush living—camping under the stars, cooking over fire—and support communities through building water-source walls and tracking elephants. The program takes place with a leading sea turtle conservation organization on the subtropical island of Okinawa, Japan. From April to July, you support nightly beach patrols to document nesting activity. In August and September, you assist with the hatching of baby turtles. Year-round, you contribute to beach cleanups, environmental education, fundraising, and data analysis.

Join a wildlife rescue team and care for the animals in the sanctuary. Provide food and enrichment for a variety of animals including monkeys, sloths and anteaters that have been injured, orphaned or mistreated. In this animal welfare project, employees and volunteers look after street dogs. The welfare of the dogs is the top priority. The dogs are taken in, neutered and, if possible, given a new home. Sick or injured dogs are nursed back to health. As a volunteer, you support the care of the dogs and do everything you can to ensure that they are well.
