Join a medical internship in Romania by working alongside a mobile medical unit. Perfect for aspiring nurses and doctors whilst you carie for elderly and infirm patients around the county. All interests in medicine welcomed and lots of experience to be gained!

Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

Gain some hands-on medical experience working with adults who are receiving care in and around the beautiful and historical city of Brasov. This medical internship is ideal for those looking for some extra medical experience either before university, during their studies or before going into the workplace.

Mobile Medical Unit

The Mobile Medical Unit is a great way to really get involved in some hands on medical experience whilst seeing a different side to Romania. The mobile unit travels around Brasov to help people who are not able to get to hospital because of their health problems. Participants help with taking blood pressure, dressing wounds, administering medication as standard, and can do more depending on the level of experience.

Free time

Whilst taking part in these projects you will be living in the centre of Brasov along with other volunteers. Brasov is a lively medieval city, surrounded by towering mountain ranges. We include a trip to Dracula's Castle, but you can also go skiing, hiking, exploring local cities and culture, or just relaxing in the many bars, restaurants and cafes that Brasov has to offer.

Accommodation and food

Live in a self catered flat, sharing a room with one other volunteer. The accommodation is in a fantastic location just 5 minutes walk from the medieval city centre.

Project highlights

  • Gaining hands-on experience in two different medical settings
  • Exploring stunning Transylvania in your free time
  • Meeting locals in their homes, and helping them to get better
  • Travelling around Brasov county with a nurse, physio or doctor
