Do volunteer work in the Caribbean on a project that supports disadvantaged children. The aim is to empower and encourage the children, and measures are also taken to improve their quality of life. The foundation also supports and provides further training for the children's families and the community.



Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

Your place of work:
The Community Center consists of professional therapists, social workers, and an educator. There are various programs for the further education and support of children and their families, such as leisure activities, therapy, and education. Since there is also a constant need for individual care, tutoring, and sports activities, volunteers are always welcome. In addition to the existing programs, you can also contribute your own ideas for new aid projects and establish them for the community.

The programs are always adapted to the current needs of the community and the number of volunteers. If you are particularly interested in certain areas, you can discuss this with the local coordinator. However, depending on the needs, you may also be asked to help with other activities.

All volunteers and interns will receive a free Spanish course for the entire duration of the project.

Your tasks:

  • Helping the foundation with day-to-day stuff
  • Supporting the team in special educational activities and lessons
  • Promotion of recycling methods for the production of learning materials
  • Assistance and preparation of various thematic workshops (Spanish language skills required)
  • Participation in weekly meetings with volunteers and permanent staff to discuss upcoming tasks
  • Joint design of lesson plans, learning materials, and multimedia content
  • Documentation of case studies, development of methods to improve the quality of children's learning
  • Development of recreational, developmental, and therapeutic activities for people with special needs
  • Childcare, tutoring, and teaching
  • Supporting the team in youth, family, and community work
  • Planning and support in the implementation of events such as fundraising campaigns or educational events
  • Cooperation with other organizations
  • Planning and conducting workshops on topics such as disability (advanced Spanish skills required)

    We are an independent organization for volunteering and internships abroad. Since 1999, we have been supporting social, ecological and animal protection projects in our target countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin and North America, as well as Oceania. In all these countries, we work with our own teams or partner organizations.

    Good English. If you also speak Spanish, you can take on more independent tasks. However, you will also receive lessons or a free Spanish course on site.
    Qualifications particulières :
    No special prior knowledge is required for this position. You should be motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and ready for new challenges and working with lots of people.
    Hébergement & repas :
    The apartments are located in the center of the coastal towns of Samaná and Las Terrenas. Free Wi-Fi and use of the washing machine are included in the services. The apartments are fully furnished.
