About the project in Thailand
English is the key to a better future for many children in Thailand. Although the language is part of the curriculum from the first grade onwards, state schools often lack resources and qualified teachers. As a volunteer, you will help teach English in a playful way in classes with 25–40 students. At the same time, you will gain valuable insights into Thai culture.
Your tasks in the project
As a volunteer, you will design and prepare English lessons, teach and supervise the children. At the beginning, you will be supported by another teacher so that you can familiarise yourself with the work. Gradually, you will be given more responsibility, but you can always count on the support of the team.
Your daily routine in Hua Hin
You will work approximately 20–25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, usually between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The exact times depend on the school where you are assigned.
The journey to school takes 5–20 minutes, and public transport is readily available.
Your free time
Hua Hin combines relaxed beaches, Thai culture and modern living. The palm-fringed beaches are ideal for relaxing, snorkelling and beach volleyball. Nature lovers can explore national parks such as Kaeng Krachan or Khao Sam Roi Yot with spectacular caves and wildlife. Optional activities include cooking classes, temple tours and Muay Thai lessons. Social events and festivals add variety to your volunteer life.
