About the project in Chile
The kindergarten was founded over 35 years ago to promote the development and quality of life of children. The facility cares for children aged six months to six years, but due to staff shortages, support from volunteers is particularly welcome. The aim of the project is to teach the children English in a playful way, strengthen their social skills and impart values such as tolerance, respect and solidarity. As a volunteer, you will accompany the children through their daily routine and support the educational team.
Your tasks in the project
During your volunteer work at the kindergarten in Chile, you will support the teachers in their daily work. You will teach the children English in a playful way, promote their development, help with personal hygiene, eating and organising leisure activities. You will also help with meal preparation and teach the children about hygiene and fixed routines.
Your daily routine in Hua Hin
Work is usually Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Afternoons and weekends are usually free.
Your free time
Viña del Mar is located directly on the Pacific coast and is one of Chile's most popular cities. It is also known as the ‘Garden City’ because of its numerous parks. Its colonial buildings give it a special charm. The city offers a great mix of culture, nature and beaches: perfect for relaxing and exploring!
In your free time, you can stroll through botanical gardens, visit Castillo Wulff or the famous flower clock. Or you can spend the day at one of the beaches, sunbathing, swimming or surfing. Excursions are also worthwhile: the colourful city of Valparaiso is right next door, and Santiago de Chile is only 1.5 hours away. Ideal for a weekend in the Andes or the city!
