Childcare and Teaching in Cochabamba, Bolivia

At the educational and youth center Nuevo Conocer you can support the local teachers and help children with learning difficulties. You can usually also offer your own teaching units in subjects such as English, drawing, sports or music and lead groups. In the afternoons, you help with leisure activities and homework supervision. You can often also get involved in the planning and implementation of projects or events. Outside of school hours, there is the possibility to support the Christian-Evangelical youth work or to help with the maintenance and premises. Administrative support is also sometimes requested.

The House of Friendship offers day care for children and young people whose parents are in prison. Here you can also help with teaching and with the care of children and young people, for example by helping with learning and homework or by organizing leisure activities. You can often also implement playful learning tasks.

Fundación Esperanza operates three homes for orphaned or neglected children and young people. Here you can get involved in childcare and education. You typically support the staff with the general daily routine, play with the children and young people, and organize their free time. You can play, craft, paint, or read to younger children and help older children with their homework or in their free time.

Bolivia Digna maintains two Community Centers where you can get involved in many ways. In preschool, you usually support the care of 2- to 6-year-olds, play with them, and help with creative and educational activities. You can usually teach English twice a week and use creative learning games. In the afternoons, you often help children with their homework. Sports activities like soccer are also offered, in which you can get involved. You can also get involved in creative projects and often suggest your own ideas. Furthermore, Bolivia Digna provides knowledge about health and hygiene, where you can offer support. As part of an outreach program, you can get involved in other projects, for example, supporting teachers in schools, accompanying children in the hospital, or helping with fundraising for games and books.
