Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

About New Zealand

New Zealand is a beautiful part of the world, playing home to gorgeous beaches, stunning mountains and dazzling Fiordland. This country is steeped in rich Maori culture and history from when the Polynesians came to Australia 800 years ago. Now there is an eclectic mix of Maori, Islander and European influence. Unfortunately in recent years New Zealand has suffered from various natural disasters, man-made problems and alarmingly high numbers of species loss and extinction.

About this project

This volunteer opportunity will allow you to help in urban, regional and remote locations. You can chose to arrive in one of three gateway cities and from here you will travel to project locations. Our head offices are based in Auckland and Wellington on the North Island and Christchurch and Punakaiki on the South Island. Volunteer with a group of up to 10 others under the guidance of a conservation leader. Join passionate and inspiring locals in their mission to preserve this beautiful land. You can volunteer from as little as one week or up to 12. Why not combine a couple of locations and volunteer for 2 weeks per project site?

Volunteers are mainly helping to

  • Help protect the environment through habit and heritage restoration including planting trees and native plants
  • Eradicate foreign plant species by clearing the way for native flora to grow
  • Perform local wildlife surveys and contribute to data collection analysis
  • Construct and repair safe, public walking paths
  • Collection native seeds for new growth
  • Help with beach clean ups to protect the coastal regions from plastic and other waste
