Save animals and nature and explore Galapagos!

Pays d’action: Equateur, Amérique latine et Caraïbes
Type d’activité: Missions avec animaux et vétérinaires, Ecovolontariat
Two remarkable projects are waiting for you in the beautiful country Ecuador. Surrounded by impressive nature in the Amazon you take part in an outstanding animal protection project and also get active alongside an indigenous community who live in line with nature, protecting the environment. As a reward the group flies to the Galapagos Islands in the end, a magical experience!

Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

For everyone who cares about nature, nature protection and animal welfare this program is an absolutely outstanding choice.

We will take you into the depths of the jungle in Ecuador where you will be supporting a team of professionals in their daily work of animal rescue efforts, aiming at hopefully releasing them again when they are ready and recovered. You will be supporting them in medical treatments, further development of the center to meet the needs of the animals and social efforts to rehabilitate the rescued animals. Is one of our most rewarding projects as volunteers always tell us as besides the tasks themselves the project work takes place in a workplace that is one of a kind, within a stunning natural surrounding.

After the first two weeks we complete our work in the Animal Rescue Center and head deeper into the jungle to meet, live with and support an indigenous community who lives in this area, completely in accordance with nature. You will spend your nights in an Eco-Lodge that is situated in an area of 125 hectare of protected rainforest. You will learn how this community lives in harmony with nature and support them in their daily efforts to maintain nature for the future while living in this environment. If sustainability is a topic you are interested in and want to get to know in practice this is the perfect opportunity as you will get insights into traditions and practices they have cultivated over numerous generations.

As a final highlight in week four we then fly over to the Galapagos Islands to make your experience within and about nature and its inhabitants perfect. The Galapagos Islands are home to a worldwide unique biodiversity and you will have the chance to get to know it from different perspectives – under water, on land, alongside vulcanoes and of course in the Charles Darwin Research station. At the end of your tour you will head back home fully equipped with a variety of insights into nature and animal protection from all stages of your journey.
