An action-packed 7 week tour combining travel & adventure with volunteering on Australia’s famed East Coast.

Week 1:

Arrive in Sydney where you’ll meet your leader and the rest of your group, and enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation. Your first week is packed with activities as you explore this incredible city and surrounding area. Activities include a Harbour cruise, a Blue Mountains tour and plenty of social activities!

Week 2:

Leaving Sydney behind, we begin our journey up the East Coast. First stop on the itinerary is Byron Bay, an idyllic town with great beaches and a vibrant coastal surf culture. Carrying on north we reach the Gold Coast and iconic Surfer’s Paradise. Our final stop this week is the vibrant capital of Queensland and an optional chance to visit the world famous Australia Zoo!

Week 3:

We continue our East Coast adventure as we head deep into the state of Queensland. Highlights on this leg of the journey include a 3 day jeep safari on Fraser island; the largest sand island in the world! One night sailing around the Whitsunday islands with visit to Whitehaven beach! And stop at the popular hang-out of Airlie beach.

Week 4: Magnetic Island – Cairns

Next stop is Townsville from where you will catch a ferry to Magnetic Island. This laid back island is home to the largest koala colony in Northern Australia and the perfect place to enjoy golden sandy beaches and warm tropical waters before you head to Cairns to start the next phase of your journey.

Weeks 5 & 6:

The final phase of your adventure is a unique and fully immersive experience, giving you the chance to gain a deeper understanding of the environment and local communities through hands-on experiences and meaningful insight. Your base will be the backpacker hangout of Cairns - gateway to jaw-dropping tropical rainforests and the famous Great Barrier reef, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Activities will include:

• Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation tour; a breathtaking journey from the rainforest to the reef, including a river cruise, creek swim, beach visit and jeep safari

• Great Barrier Reef snorkelling; gain a deeper understanding of the reef and its inhabitants during an unforgettable snorkelling trip to the reef!

• Atherton Tablelands Waterfall Eco-adventure; a stunning natural playground with volcanic crater lakes, cascading waterfalls and secluded creeks.

• Environmental Conservation project; volunteer with our local partner in Cairns on one of their ongoing conservation initiatives to help protect the local environment
