Imagine walking through the mountains of the Sacred Valley each morning, greeted by children eager to learn a language that can open doors for their future. In this program, you will support small rural schools in Yucay and nearby villages, where educational resources are limited but motivation is high.
Your main role is to lead fun, interactive English activities for students aged 6–16. Through games, songs, storytelling, outdoor exercises and simple conversation practice, you help improve their confidence and communication skills. English is a powerful tool for future opportunities in tourism, education and employment, and your presence makes a real difference.
Beyond teaching, you will be welcomed into the heart of Andean culture. Volunteers stay with a local Quechua-speaking host family, sharing meals, traditions and daily life. This immersion offers a unique chance to understand Peru from the inside, learn basic Spanish or Quechua, and form meaningful human connections.
Weekends are free to explore: visit Cusco, discover Machu Picchu, or hike through high-altitude landscapes. Throughout your stay, you receive full orientation, in-country support and a volunteer certificate at the end.
Whether you are a first-time volunteer or seeking purposeful travel, this project invites you to contribute to education while experiencing the beauty, warmth and cultural richness of the Andes.
Your role may include:
Teaching or assisting in English classes
Preparing and leading engaging, interactive lessons
Offering one-on-one tutoring to students who need extra help
Organizing educational games and cultural activities
Occasionally helping in other subjects like Math or History
