The project site is located in Swedish Lapland, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery – an ideal place to witness the magic of the Northern Lights. The nearest town with shops and souvenir stores is about 35 kilometers away. Out here in the wilderness, real adventures await: speed through snowy forests on a snowmobile, spend the night in a traditional igloo, or try activities like snowshoeing, ice fishing, and feeding reindeer.
The project was founded in 2017 with just eight dogs. Today, over 30 huskies and two cats live on site. Your main tasks revolve around the animals: cleaning kennels and outdoor enclosures, refilling water, feeding and grooming the dogs, taking them for walks, and of course, giving them plenty of cuddles. In addition, you’ll help with daily chores such as cooking and household tasks.
A typical day starts with feeding the dogs. After that, the team has breakfast together, guests are introduced to the day’s activities, and the work begins. In summer, you will play with the huskies and take them on walks. In winter – the high season – the dogs are harnessed to sleds and you will help prepare for tours and accompany the guests. In the evening, everyone comes together for dinner and the dogs are fed again. During the summer, working hours are typically 5–7 hours per day. In winter, days may be longer. You will have two days off per week.
