Project description
The wolf sanctuary is currently home to 13 Iberian wolves, rescued mainly from cruel captivity in zoos. The wolves now roam freely in their large enclosures, but your help is needed to care for this endangered species.
Volunteer tasks
Accommodation and food
You will be living on site at the wolf sanctuary, about 40 minutes from Lisbon. You will be sharing accommodation with other volunteers in a charming log cabin. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a lovely living cum dining room and two bedrooms. You will be taken into town every week to purchase food.
Arrival and orientation
You will arrive into Lisbon on a Sunday. Your first two nights in Portugal will be spent in a guest house in Lisbon for an orientation and city tour. On Tuesday you will be taken up to the sanctuary, introduced to the staff and given a project induction. The volunteer project then starts for real!
Free time
You will be working at the sanctuary Monday - Friday. You will have weekends free to explore the local area including the beaches, Lisbon, Porto, Sintra and more.
