About the project in Bali
The project is run by a non-profit organisation in Bali and is funded exclusively by donations. The aim of the rescue centre is to care for and rehabilitate wild animals and then release them back into the wild. Through your volunteer work, you will support the team in their important animal welfare work and actively help them.
Your tasks in the project
A wide range of tasks await you in the wildlife project: you will help clean the cages, prepare food and keep the animals occupied. If you have previous medical experience, you can also assist with treatments. You will also observe and document the behaviour of the animals, especially new arrivals and those that will soon be released back into the wild.
Your daily routine in Bali
Your working day at the wildlife sanctuary in Bali usually starts at 8 a.m. and lasts about six hours. You will prepare food, feed the animals, clean cages, organise activities and help with the maintenance of the grounds. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. is lunch break – time to rest and recharge your batteries.
Make more of your time in Bali
The project is located in Tabanan, in the south of Bali – surrounded by rice terraces and only a short drive from beaches. Popular places such as Canggu, Kuta and Ubud can be reached in 1–1.5 hours. In your free time, you can visit temples such as Tanah Lot, feast at night markets or go surfing. Bali is also ideal for trips into nature, for example to waterfalls or rice fields.
