Every year, our oceans drown in plastic. Over 80% of this waste comes from land, turning into particles that enter the food chain, and then in our own lives. Whales, turtles, and seabirds suffer and die every day because of this crisis.
Immerse yourself in Ecuador’s coastal life while supporting the protection of this marine animals. The "Support Marine Wildlife & Surf" program offers a meaningful experience that blends conservation, cultural exchange, and adventure on one of the Pacific’s most beautiful beaches. This program invites you to connect with nature, culture, and purpose.
During your stay, you’ll support the local Marine Wildlife Center and collaborate with the Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment in:
- Rescue and rehabilitate injured or weak animals
- Release them safely back into their natural habitats
- Monitoring turtle breeding sites and overseeing nestings during egg-laying periods
- Educate local communities about the dangers of plastic pollution
- Cleaning the beach and organizing community events focused on environmental protection
- Feeding and caring for animals in the local shelter - Build a bridge between society and the ocean, inspiring long-term change
To make your experience even richer, the program includes a week of surf lessons and a Spanish language course, helping you connect more deeply with the local culture and people. Your first week focuses on learning Spanish and surfing, from the second week onwards, you’ll dive into your volunteer work while still enjoying the waves in your free time.
