Immerse yourself in caring for horses while supporting therapy programs and cultural heritage in rural Croatia.
Located in Sinj, this project partners with a historic equestrian club to combine equine welfare, therapy, and tradition.
You’ll provide daily support—feeding, grooming, exercising horses—and aid in maintaining safe, clean stables.
You’ll also assist instructors with therapeutic riding sessions for children with disabilities—helping build their confidence, mobility, and joy.
The program contributes to local cultural pride by preparing for the traditional Sinjska Alka horse event, supporting this living heritage.
What will I be doing?
You’ll begin with a full orientation in Split, followed by daily horse care and therapy support once at the equestrian centre.
Your hands-on duties include stable cleaning, feeding, grooming, and prepping horses for sessions.
You’ll support equine therapy by helping children mount, ride, and interact with horses under supervision—improving physical and emotional wellbeing.
You may help prepare equipment and spaces for the Sinjska Alka celebrations, gaining firsthand insight into Croatian traditions.
Why choose this project?
You’ll make a genuine difference in the lives of horses and children, fostering wellbeing and inclusion
You’ll gain practical animal-care experience—grooming, feeding, handling, and stable management
You’ll support therapeutic riding that transforms lives for children with disabilities
You’ll connect with rural Croatian culture and contribute to preserving the renowned Sinjska Alka
You’ll find meaning in a peaceful countryside setting while developing empathy, patience, and teamwork
Whether you stay for a few weeks or extend with an internship, you’ll leave with new skills, lasting memories, and the knowledge that your work supported horses, children, and cultural sustainability in Croatia.
