Your placement in Australia
Surrounded by nature on the Sunshine Coast, you will support an international community that is testing and implementing sustainable ways of living. The eco-community is largely self-sufficient, grows its own vegetables, uses solar energy and is committed to protecting natural ecosystems. You will help out in the garden, with events or construction projects and learn a lot about permaculture and environmentally friendly agriculture. With your commitment, you will contribute to nature and species conservation in Australia – a country whose unique biodiversity is under serious threat.
Your tasks in the project
Depending on your interests and previous experience, you will support the community with tasks such as gardening, cooking communal meals or cleaning and maintaining the facilities. Creative tasks such as marketing or video production are also possible. You will work directly on the premises and will be trained by the team at the beginning. Working hours are flexible – you will help out for about five hours a day, five days a week, and coordinate your schedule directly with the team on site.
Your free time
In your free time, you can dance, do yoga or participate in community retreats right on site. The surrounding area is ideal for excursions, with rainforests, waterfalls and national parks. The coast is only 30 minutes away – perfect for surfing, sunbathing and relaxing. The popular Noosa Heads is also within easy reach. For a big city feel, head to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast. If you have more time, a trip to the Great Barrier Reef with its unique underwater world is well worth it.
