Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

This is a super exciting RE-WILDING project. Help Save the Black Rhino and reintroduce them to Southern Namibia. Our reserve was taken over from farmers and trophy hunters. We joined all the plots and made it one big reserve for wildlife.

We need to make the land as natural as possible.

Volunteer tasks can include:

•Leopard Monitoring
•Nocturnal biodiversity surveys
•Large mammal game counts (4x4 trail)
•Small mammal trapping
•Bird monitoring program
•Reptile & insect surveys
•Brown hyena monitoring
•Black-footed cat reintroduction
•Hartmann’s mountain zebra research
•Burrowing mammals research
•Medium & small sized carnivore monitoring program
•Reintroduction viability studies
•Fix/build water points for wildlife
•Dam construction
•Axe down and burn introduced trees
•Ecosystems mapping
•Single day and/or multi day hikes (depending on fitness of group, don’t worry you wont be pushed out of you’re comfort zone)
•3 day river rafting expedition down the Orange River
•Downhill mountain biking (optional)
•Community based projects
•Permaculture (sustainability projects running at base camp)
•Arts (fully stocked art supplies box for the creative)
•Beach volleyball, touch rugby, football, cricket, baseball, badminton, slack-lining (Base camp – all optional)

L’organisation de volontariat se présente

We are re-wilding a Nature Reserve in the Namibian Deep South and working in surrounding community land. Our aim is to empower communities through wildlife conservation. We have several community and conservation initiatives and need your help to keep them going. Conservation is split into land management and research, you will gain hands on experience in true African wilderness.

Update on the Coronavirus situation
The safety of our guests and employees is of upmost importance to us. In light of this, and in line with latest government direction, we are only accepting new bookings that have an arrival date after 4th June 2020.
We will take bookings online but not accept any payment at this stage.
Bookings are provisional and we are flexible, the dates can be changed at no extra charge.

Hébergement & repas :
Bedouin tented camp, homely feel. Bedroom pods sleep 2/3 and we spend most of our time in ‘hang out’ tent which is furnished with cosy cushions, sofa, library, beautiful dining table dining as a family. The bar hand-made by past volunteers, all furniture up-cycled from the land. We have hot water shower, flush toilets & Solar power. You can charge all your devices. There is some WIFI
