Sports coaching in Ghana

Ghana, commonly known as the 'Gateway to Africa', is the perfect place to ease yourself into a full African experience. Ghanaian people are famously friendly and welcoming. This is a project that is perfect year-round due to the constantly warm climate.
Volunteer as sports coach in Accra, the capital of Ghana, and spread your passion for sports with enthusiastic children and young people. As a volunteer, you will be based either in local clubs, schools or sport academies in the city, depending on the sport you choose to coach.

You will mainly be involved in the community outreach projects working with local clubs and schools. Typically, you will coach in the morning and afternoon avoiding the midday heat. You will be coaching for 3-4 hours a day on Monday to Friday.
The projects have been set up with the support of a football academy that is focused on identifying talented young footballers and supporting them towards reaching their full potential through dedicated coaching, outstanding facilities and the opportunity to compete in prestigious tournaments.
One of the main aims of the academy is to secure professional futures for the most talented and dedicated players, several of who, have been taken to trials with a number of professional clubs in Europe.
A highlight for our volunteers is the chance to spend time with the academy boys - a phenomenal opportunity.

Not only will you meet kids with real talent, you will also get the opportunity to work with other amazing coaches and you will spend time with like-minded volunteers.

People that join this project are passionate about sport and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved yourself and improve your own skills, and not just coach!

To take part, you need to be over 18 and a sport-lover. For those with previous coaching experience, you could take part in our football internship or volunteer with the national team.
The coaching takes around Accra, generally within a 20 minute drive of your accommodation. You could be at a local school, club or even coaching at the national stadium in Accra!
