Currently studying medicine or nursing? Take your experience to the next level by joining our Delhi programme where you will shadow the professionals in a busy city hospital with 150 beds.

As an intern, you will:

• choose 3-4 departments to rotate around
• Shadow and observe professionals about their daily practice
• Gain a thorough understanding of the Indian health care system

You will be working in the hospital 5 days a week, but will have the weekends free to explore the fascinating historic city of Delhi.

• critical care
• general wards
• orthopaedic
• nursing
• obstetrics and gynaecology
• physiotherapy

Palampur

If you have an interest in medicine but not yet studying a course, our Palampur programme is for you.

Set in the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India, you will get first hand experience of the Indian medical system away from Delhi’s bustling crowds.

Choose to work in a hospital, dental clinic, nursing home, physio centre or alternative medicine centre, and shadow specific medical professionals keen to share their experiences with you.

You can expect to work in any of the following areas:

• In-patient wards
• laboratory
• pharmacy
• radiology/imaging
• occupational therapy
• internal medicine
• general surgery
• general wards
• nursing
• obstetrics and gynaecology
• physiotherapy

If you have a particular field of interest, let us know, and we can try to involve you in the relevant department.

As an intern, you will work 5 days a week, between 9.30am-2pm. In the afternoon, you can choose to unwind by joining the yoga classes held on the roof of the accommodation, play a game of badminton on the court outside, or take part in tours of the surrounding area. Whatever you do, you will not fail to be awed by the stunning Himalayan views from your front door.

Optional language and cultural week in Delhi

Both programmes offer an optional language and cultural week in Delhi. As well as learning some key Hindu words and phrases to help you during your following internship, this introductory week also gives you the opportunity to recover from your jet lag, visit the Taj Mahal and learn all about your new home, and is highly recommended. The additional cost is £415 (approx 470 euro)
