We place volunteers in childcare projects throughout Ecuador. The diversity of the program sites is very wide. Not only the project sites are very diverse but also the areas of responsibility. There are volunteer spots in the exciting capital of Quito, in the charming colonial city of Cuenca, in the adventurous Amazon region, on the beautiful Galapagos Islands and in the mystical cloud forest.
Ecuador has seen a renewed increase in the rate of poverty in recent years. Children are especially affected as the weakest link in society. Particularly noteworthy is the increasing number of children who must live and work on the street. Numerous projects undertaken by different organizations have been increasingly taking care of the education of children in order to keep them away from the street and to provide them with better prospects. All projects have one goal in common: helping Ecuadorian children and young people to show them new ways to promote and protect them. The volunteer projects take care of children of different age. In some areas, small children and babies are particularly in need, while other projects focus on young people in order to promote them in school and to show them future prospects on the labor market.
Volunteers can work in the following projects:
• Work with disadvantaged young people in Quito

• Volunteer work in a kindergarten in the Nebelwald
