In this volunteer project, you work actively in animal welfare. Helping out means taking on important tasks in an animal welfare center and making your contribution to protecting biodiversity in the jungle in Bolivia. The volunteer work takes place in the oldest animal rescue center in the country and is dedicated to the rescue, care and reintroduction of animals into the wild. The wildlife sanctuary is located on the edge of the Amazon and was created by a deal of the local authority and a group of naturalists in 1996 with two spider monkeys, a capuchin monkey and a squirrel monkey. Today, the animal welfare center cares for about 300 animals, which includes 30 different species, including endangered species. Veterinarians, naturalists and volunteers from all over the world care for the animals in the park. Every day they prepare the food, which is specially adapted to the natural needs of the animals, provide them with medical care and do important work for the social behavior of the animals.
