Ecuador: Self-Sufficiency Project "Sustainable Living Concept"

Pays d’action: Equateur, Amérique latine et Caraïbes
Type d’activité: Agriculture, Communautés alternatives
Are you interested in environmental protection and ways of providing for yourself in a sustainable way with a group of committed, like-minded people? In this project you will live in a self-sufficient community. For this sustainable life concept, helpers are needed - you will not only learn about an ecological lifestyle, but also how to actively implement it.

Description du projet et du rôle des volontaires

Here in Ecuador, you will experience an independent and self-determined life in your own economic structures in nature, while participating in and serving the community! In this project you will learn to live and work in harmony with nature. You have the unique opportunity to learn everything about the cycle of life from a classical Western perspective, as well as other perspectives that demonstrate, allow, and try out new and trend-setting sustainable life models. Here you can actively participate in a project that stands for a new world of nature, humanity, self-sufficiency, and sustainable economy.

It is not only about learning, but also about implementing a holistic concept of life, which you can apply to life in your home country under different climatic conditions. In France, too, more and more importance is being attached to well thought-out living spaces, soil, water, and energy management for sustainable coexistence. This project gives an excellent example of how it works. Learn in Ecuador what you can use everywhere and become part of the "Sustainable Living Concept - A New World"!

Your contribution to "A New World in Ecuador"

Your help in this project not only contributes to the reforestation and protection of nature in Ecuador. You are also helping to preserve endangered habitats and to create new life opportunities on a test site, which can offer the locals perspectives for a more sustainable life. Your knowledge will expand in many directions: linguistically, ecologically, economically, and culturally.

Project Goals

The project team working on-site consists of a New Zealander and an Ecuadorian who will look after you during your project period.

The project model includes:

  • Environmental protection and nature conservation
  • Organic farming with self-sufficiency
  • Bio-Architecture (new, sustainable, energy-saving construction methods)
  • Energy and water management
  • Self-determination and socially sustainable development
  • Employment in a model project for sustainable living in the north of Ecuador
  • Supporting the community in building projects, organic farming, and environmental protection
  • Expanding your knowledge and committing yourself to a sustainable approach to nature
